2018 AGM

Elwood Toy Library

Fancy some Cake? And children who actually listen to what you say?

Our AGM is tomorrow at the Toy Library and we’d love you to join us. This year we will be providing High Tea and a guest Speaker: the lovely and amazingly over-qualified Laina Mason, who is sharing a sample of her encyclopaedic knowledge about parenting. (All the details are at the bottom of this post).

With a particular focus on bonding through play, Laina is going to give us her top tips from nearly 15 years of working with children and families. Not to mention 6 years of having her own rambunctious boys!

There will be an array of lovely food on offer as well as some bubbles to celebrate this fun and successful year. The Committee will report back on the Toy Library’s financial status and the events of the last year, as well as the plans for next year. And, as always, there will be an opportunity to join the Committee.

Just two sleeps 'til Messy Play!!!

It's only two days now 'til our first ever Messy Play Day and we are EXCITED.

We have been wanting to run this for years; and for years, there's always been too much on. But this year, with the help of the great Toy Library Community and some truly incredible volunteers, we are days away from it finally happening. And oh my, is there some gloopy fun in store. 

We don't want to give too much away, but let's just say that there MIGHT be gloop, goo, slime, paint, playdough, giant bubbles, and maybe even a slip and slide... Our volunteers have been hard at work and we can't wait for the kids to get stuck in. But the best thing? The kids get all the benefits of messy play without you having to clean up even one splash of paint. For only $5 a family. 

It's hungry work creating a ginormous mess, so we'll have a range of yummy baked goods on sale, as well as icy poles, a sausage sizzle (of course) and delicious iced coffees made with Johhny's phenomenal single-origin beans.

It's a cash-only fundraiser for the Toy Library, so don't forget to bring some cash with you, and swimmers/old clothes would be helpful too. The weather is set to be BEAUTIFUL and things are going to get MESSY!!!!
