Move and Make, for your little yogis.
Elwood Toy Library
If, like me - you love the benefits of yoga and are already daydreaming about how you can get your kids into it, then Move and Make is tailor-made for you.
When a friend said she had taken her 4 year old son to a kids yoga session and he'd loved it, we were off the next session. And I'm so glad we were.
Move and Make is the brainchild of Sarah Blangiardo, an early childhood educator who now specialises in teaching yoga to kids and educators. She teaches a lot in early childhood centres but her most recent venture has been to trial a public class, right next door to the Toy Library in the Elwood/St Kilda Neighbourhood Learning Centre. Lucky us!
My 4 year old son Arlo loved the class, and I really enjoyed getting to see him engaging with another adult and being so responsive and excited. On the day we went he went on a jungle adventure... experimenting with poses and balance along the way. Each session ends with craft so Arlo finished up with colorful paper plate lion to take home. His review says it all; he said he wanted to 'do it every day!'.
Sarah offers kids, baby and family yoga on fridays and saturdays, for $15 a session. If you're interested can find all the details here. It's for a limited time only though, the trial ends soon. So if you're keen to bliss out your little yogis, get your namastay on.
